Shipment Management

View 3D Load Configuration

This page is accessed via:

This action shows the load configuration for a shipment in three dimension format if you are using 3D load configuration. The following is required:

  • The 'Load Configuration Engine Type' parameter must be set to 3D Placement.
  • Set the Logic Configuration - Container Optimization parameter 'Use 3D Based Load Configuration' to TRUE (default is FALSE).
  • Provide dimensions for all the ship units involved in the shipment to be viewed, ideally, include weight as well. Volume will be calculated based on the L x W x H dimensions provided on the ship units.
  • The equipment group assigned to the shipment must also have its dimensions defined - L x W x H.

If any of these conditions are not met, you will see the error message, “The loading configuration of Shipment Equipment DOMAIN.xxxx cannot be shown in 3D.”

See also Bulk Plan Tuning Container Optimization Logic.

Note: 3D load configuration ignores pre-checking dimensions regardless of the setting of the property glog.business.equipment.allowRotation.

If you want to edit a load configuration, click Edit Load Config. Note that the edit option is not available for Logistics Network Modelling; only the View option is supported there.

Click Save as User-defined Pattern (also known as a 3D pattern) to save this configuration as a pattern that can be used in future shipping planning. Enter the ID with which you want to save the user-defined pattern (Load Configuration 3D Pattern). In order to use the saved user-defined patterns, while bulk planning, the parameter set should not have the parameter 'CONSIDER SCORING LOGIC IN 3D PLACEMENT' set to 'true'. You can also generate and save a 3D Load Configuration pattern using the Container Optimization solution page of Ask Oracle Container Optimization. Note that this does not support multi-compartment saving. Also obstructions and dunnages are not saved.

By default, the 3D load configuration view uses built in 3D functionality.

Note: The Cortona VRML plugin has been deprecated. If necessary, you can configure the OTM Load Config action to use Cortona via the property glog.webserver.loadconfig.useCortona. The 3D viewer available in the Workbench does not support Cortona.

To display the 3D load configuration using Cortona, a VRML plugin is required for Microsoft Internet Explorer for 3D load configuration view. Cortona is not supported in Safari or in newer versions of Chrome.

The default 3D viewer is detailed in top section of this help topic. The deprecated Cortona viewer is described later in this topic.

3D View

This section describes the 3D viewer available from the Load Config action. The 3D viewer available on the Workbench has enhanced functionality.

The 3D view shows the current load configuration of a shipment. You can work with individual items, or the entire grouping of items, as loaded in a "truck". The top of the section displays the shipment ID, equipment group ID, item ID, and number of stops.

When working with the entire grouping of items, you can turn the entire "truck" for different views and angles. The following functions are available:

  • Rotate: Allows you to turn the view in any direction.
    • Press the left mouse button and move the mouse in any direction.
    • Using the mouse, click on one of the axis points, either X, Y, or Z and drag the cursor.
  • Pan: Allows you to move the entire view to the left, right, up, or down.
    • Press the right mouse button and move the mouse in any direction.
    • Use the arrow keys on your keyboard.
  • Zoom: Allows you to make the image bigger or smaller. Use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out.
  • Move items out of equipment: Double-click on an item to move it out of the way to see what is loaded behind it or under it. Double-click on the item again to move it back into place.
  • Hide objects to see internal objects: Use the slider controls on the axes to move slides along either the X, Y, and Z axis.
  • Information on the loaded items: The item ID, orientation, etc. are listed on the surface of each item piece.

Toolbar Icons and Buttons

The following icons and buttons are available on the tool bar of the 3D viewer available from the Load Config action.

  • Reset button: Resets the view to the default view and default color scheme, as well as original position and orientation.
  • View drop-down list: Provide different views of the equipment such as back, bottom, front, etc.
  • Color Scheme drop-down list: Provides color-coding for the items including ship unit, orientation, order release, stacking layer, etc. The selection of Default uses random colors.
  • Loading Sequence: Click the Remove/Remove All and Add/Add All icons to simulate the loading of items on the equipment.
    • Click Remove All icon (Remove All) to place all items outside of the equipment.
    • Click Remove icon (Remove) to move one item at a time outside of the equipment.
    • Click Add icon (Add) to add one item at time back on to the equipment.
    • Click Add All icon (Add All) to add all items back on to the equipment.
  • Stack View icon (=): View items based on stacking layer.
  • Multi-stop View button: Click to cycle through the shipment stops. For each stop, items are either added to or removed from the equipment. This icon is only active if the shipment has multiple stops.

Obstructions

If obstructions are used, they are shown in a gray color.

Item Details

When you mouse over an item in the 3D view, you see information about that item in a panel to the right.

Corresponding Text

The text at the bottom of the page includes all information about the selected shipment including equipment group, packaged item, commodity, stops, and details about the equipment compartment number, loading sequence, and ship unit information.

Modeling Shipments

If you run the View Load Config action on a Logistics Network Modeling shipment (modeling shipment), you will see differences from the 3D load configuration view of a standard OTM shipment. For instance, the following do not apply and as a result are not displayed.

The following fields do not appear:

  • Packaged Item ID
  • Commodity ID
  • Order Movement ID
  • Priority

The following tables do not appear:

  • Item Summary
  • Commodity Summary

Deprecated Cortona Viewer Functionality

If you changed the property glog.webserver.loadconfig.useCortona to true, the Cortona viewer opens and works as follows:

You can turn the view upside down to see what is on the floor of the truck. Using the mouse, click on one of the axis points, either X, Y or Z and drag the cursor to view that load from a different angle.

You can mouse over an item, and the item details appear in the panel to the right. You can click on an item to unload it or move it out of the way to see what is loaded behind it or under it. Click on the item again to move it back into place.

Right-click on the 3D image for options such as full screen, view points and speed. For additional information, right-click on the picture, select Help, then User's Guide.

The following functions are also available (using the mouse or keyboard only):

Show Content Options

There are several options for viewing the content in the truck. The following options are available. They are in the right panel.

  • Item Summary - This is the default. This displays all similar items in the same color.
  • Commodity Summary - if there are commodities associated with the items, the items display by commodity.
  • Stop Summary - all items scheduled for the same stop display in the same color.
  • All Ship Unit Pieces - each individual item appears in a different color. If you select this option, a Load Selection option appears. This shows the items being loaded in the sequence of this configuration. There are associated buttons. They are Play, Pause, Resume, Stop.
  • Beneath the bottom are details about the ship unit pieces, including pick up and drop off stop numbers, order release and order movement IDs as well as details such as loading sequence, is the piece split, and the top weight. Top weight will only display if the LOAD CONFIG IGNORE MAX TOP WEIGHT CONSTRAINT is true.
  • Print Friendly - This displays the image and corresponding text ready to print.

Note: Editing is not supported here.
