AI Agent: Bulk Plan Diagnostics
This page is accessed via the
(AI Chat) icon in the Global Header. Select one of the bulk plan diagnostic agents listed below.
The AI Chat let's you run AI agents that are created in AI Agent Studio. The bulk plan diagnostics agents are:
- BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTIC - SUMMARY: A summary of the bulk plan based on the diagnostics log files.
- BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTIC - FULL SUMMARY: A more detailed summary of the bulk plan.
- BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTIC - OPEN ENDED: You must enter your own prompt.
- BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTIC - ORDER ERRORS
Note: These AI agents require Oracle AI Agent Studio.
Note: For Diagnostics to be enabled two checks must be in place. The property glog.otmdiag.log must be on (it is on (true) by default). Also, either the Diagnostic user preference or the Tracking Diagnostic option on the Settings and Actions page must be ON.
Note: AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete (can include “hallucinations”), so you should validate results before relying on them. It is your responsibility to review AI-generated content before making decisions or taking action.
The BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTIC agents simplify one of the most complex processes in transportation planning: analyzing bulk plan failures. Traditionally, identifying why a bulk plan failed requires deep technical knowledge of planning logic, careful review of lengthy diagnostic logs, and the ability to interpret subtle or “soft” failures that are easy to miss. In many cases, this level of analysis depends heavily on years of hands-on experience.
With a simple instruction and a diagnostic log file ID, you can quickly receive a concise summary of the bulk plan along with the key reasons for failure, within a significantly shorter time frame than manual analysis.
It is ideal for planners, analysts, and support teams who need rapid clarity on what went wrong and how to address it. In addition to identifying failure reasons, the agent also provides multi-stop cost-saving matrix and recommendations for failure or optimize bulk plan.
These agents can explain every step and decision in your OTM bulk planning process. If there’s a failure, they can highlight the cause and recommend ways to improve your results. Here are some examples of questions you can ask:
- Can you walk me through the steps of my recent OTM bulk plan with the Diagnostic Log File of <DOMAIN_NAME>.<DIAG_LOG_FILE_XID_XXXXX>?
- Why did my bulk plan with the Bulk Plan GID of <DOMAIN NAME>.<BULKPLAN ID> fail?
- What decisions were made during the bulk planning process, and why? Use the Diagnostic Log File of <DOMAIN NAME>.<DIAG_LOG_FILE_XID_XXXXX>.
- How can I improve the performance of my bulk plan with the Bulk Plan GID of <DOMAIN NAME>.<BULKPLAN ID>?
- Are there any recommended configuration changes for better planning results for the bulk plan with the Diagnostic Log File of <DOMAIN NAME>.<DIAG_LOG_FILE_XID_XXXXX>?
The AI Assistant for bulk plan diagnostics will introduce itself and explain what it can do for you with regards to diagnosing issues or just finding out information about your bulk plan. It will provide you with sample questions similar to the ones above.
Using the BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTICS - SUMMARY Agent
There are several ways to use the bulk plan diagnostics agents. Two of these ways simplify the diagnostics process. You can use the following ways to open the BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTIC - SUMMARY agent so that it is aware of the context which means the agent knows the bulk plan ID and associated diagnostic log file ID.
You can use existing to streamline the use of the BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTIC and PRODUCT CLASSIFICATION ASSISTANT AI Agents.
- Select the
(AI Chat) icon. - Select an agent of BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTIC - FULL SUMMARY.
- In the Ask Oracle field, enter / to see a list of available prompts.
- Select the prompt that matches the agent you selected. For this example, select BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTIC - FULL SUMMARY.
- Select a Diagnostic Log File ID.
- Select OK. The prompt displays with the diagnostics log file ID included.
- If necessary, you can modify the prompt.
- Select Send Message or press Enter to view the result.
From the Bulk Plan Results page
- Go to Operational Planning > Planning Results > Shipment Planning.
- Select Replace Current Window. This is necessary because the AI Chat only knows the context if the bulk plan results page is opened in the same browser window.
- Select your bulk plan. The bulk plan must be recent and still have diagnostic log files.
- Select the AI Chat icon at the bottom of the page.

The bulk plan diagnostics assistant introduces itself and provides some sample questions that you can ask it. - The bulk plan diagnostics assistant asks if you want to see information about the selected bulk plan. Answer Yes to that question.

From an Enhanced Workbench
- Open a workbench that minimally contains the following:
- a Bulk Plan table
- a Diagnostics region
- In the bulk plan tab, search for and select a recent bulk plan that still has the diagnostics logs.
- Once the diagnostics tab displays a diagnostics graphic of the bulk plan, select the
(AI Chat).
The AI Chat pop-up opens with the the BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTIC - SUMMARY agent selected automatically. The bulk plan diagnostics assistant introduces itself and provides some sample questions that you can ask it. - The bulk plan diagnostics assistant asks if you want to see information about the selected bulk plan. Answer Yes to that question.
