Deal Creation Using a Deal Template
The following changes are made to this feature:
-
Earlier, while creating a deal using a deal template, the system did not copy the price item selection and terms and conditions selection from the deal template. Now, when you create a deal using a deal template, the system copies the following information along with the basic, pricing, and/or usage details from the deal template:
-
Price Item and Hierarchy Entity Selection – For example, if you are creating a deal (i.e. DL10) using a deal template (i.e. DLT1) where the following price items are selected:
Price Item Selection PI1 N PI2 Y PI3 N PI4 Y PI5 Y Then, the system copies the above price item selection from the DLT1 deal template to the DL10 deal.
-
General Terms and Conditions Selection at the Deal, Price Item, and Hierarchy Entity Levels - For example, if you are creating a deal (i.e. DL10) using a deal template (i.e. DLT1) where the following terms and conditions are selected at the deal level:
Terms and Conditions Selection T1 N T2 N T3 Y T4 Y Then, the system copies the above terms and conditions selection from the DLT1 deal template to the DL10 deal. Similarly, the system copies the terms and conditions selection of each price item and hierarchy entity from the DLT1 deal template to the DL10 deal.
Note:If a particular terms and conditions (for example, T11) selected at the deal, price item, or hierarchy entity level in a deal template is in the Inactive status while creating a deal using the deal template, the system will not display the T11 terms and conditions against the respective level in the new deal. Also, if a particular terms and conditions (for example, PIT12) selected at the price item or hierarchy entity level in a deal template is not effective while creating a deal using the deal template, the system will not display the T11 terms and conditions against the respective level in the new deal.
If a particular terms and conditions (for example, T10) is applicable to a deal, but was either not present or active while creating a deal template, the system will list the T10 terms and conditions in the new deal. Also, if a particular terms and conditions (for example, PIT10) is effective for a price item or hierarchy entity within the new deal start and end dates, but was not present, active, or effective while creating a deal template, the system will list the PIT10 terms and conditions against the price item or hierarchy entity in the new deal.
-
Overridden General Terms and Conditions at the Deal, Price Item, and Hierarchy Entity Levels - For example, if you are creating a deal (i.e. DL10) using a deal template (i.e. DLT1) where the following terms and conditions are overridden at the deal level:
Terms and Conditions Selection Original Text Overridden Text T1 N T&C 1 T&C 1; Additional Clause 1 T2 N T&C 2 - T3 Y T&C 3 - T4 Y T&C 4 T&C 4; Additional Clause 1 Then, the system copies the overridden terms and conditions from the DLT1 deal template to the DL10 deal. Similarly, the system copies the overridden terms and conditions of each price item and hierarchy entity from the DLT1 deal template to the DL10 deal.
-
Adhoc Terms and Conditions at the Deal, Price Item, and Hierarchy Entity Levels - For example, if you are creating a deal (i.e. DL10) using a deal template (i.e. DLT1) where the following adhoc terms and conditions are defined at the price item level:
Price Item Ahoc Terms and Conditions PI1 Adhoc T&C for PI1 PI2 Adhoc T&C for PI2 PI3 Adhoc T&C for PI3 PI4 Adhoc T&C for PI4 PI5 Adhoc T&C for PI5 Then, the system copies the adhoc terms and conditions of each price item from the DLT1 deal template to the DL10 deal. Similarly, the system copies the adhoc terms and conditions of the deal and each hierarchy entity from the DLT1 deal template to the DL10 deal.
Note: While creating a deal using a deal template, the system does not refer the Price Item Group List Filter, Price Item Selection Validation, Terms and Conditions Filter, and Terms and Conditions Selection Validation system events in the respective deal type.
