Adoption Premium Calculation

Enrolling an adopted child or adult in an individual membership is generally treated as a qualifying life event, allowing for mid-term inclusion outside of standard open enrollment. On enrolling an adopted person to an individual membership at any time within its coverage period, the system triggers the repricing process and calculates premium for the adopted person using the effective pricing rule attached to the health plan.
