Lock data at the subject level
From the Data Management view, you can lock entire subjects to prevent users from editing their data.
When you select multiple subjects, the Manage menu may display both Lock and Unlock options. Subjects to which the selected option does not apply are skipped. Similarly, if a subject is partially locked, choosing Lock updates only the necessary data to match the selected state for the entire subject. Hidden questions within the selected subjects are also locked.
- To lock specific visits instead of the entire subject, see Lock multiple visits for a subject.
- To lock data at the question or form level, see Lock a question, form, or visit for a subject.
To performs this task, you must be assigned with the Lock Subject Data Entered at a Site permission.
In the Data Management view, the subjects display as Locked in the Lock column.
In the Subject Overview page, you can see a lock icon
next to the subject, as well as on all their visits tiles and all questions within them.
For more information on the expected behavior for locked data, see Understand the subject data locking process.
