Lock data at the subject level

From the Data Management view, you can lock entire subjects to prevent users from editing their data.

When you select multiple subjects, the Manage menu may display both Lock and Unlock options. Subjects to which the selected option does not apply are skipped. Similarly, if a subject is partially locked, choosing Lock updates only the necessary data to match the selected state for the entire subject. Hidden questions within the selected subjects are also locked.
To performs this task, you must be assigned with the Lock Subject Data Entered at a Site permission.
  1. From the Homepage, Access your study in a specific mode.
  2. Along the top, make sure Subjects is selected.
  3. In the upper-right corner of the page, select the Data Management view.

    Tip:

    You can use filters to narrow your list and search for specific subjects or visits to lock. For more information, see Learn to navigate the Data Management view.
  4. Select all of the subjects you want to lock.
  5. From the Manage drop-down, select Lock.
    If you want to lock a single subject, you can also use the Actions drop-down to the right.
  6. On the Lock Data dialog, select Lock to proceed.

In the Data Management view, the subjects display as Locked in the Lock column.

In the Subject Overview page, you can see a lock icon Lock next to the subject, as well as on all their visits tiles and all questions within them.
