Issue: Systems with the Oracle Storage 8-Port 12 Gb/s SAS-3 PCIe HBA (Internal) might hang when booting Oracle Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). The following message will appear: "mpt3sas0: _base_event_notification: timeout" and "mpt3sas0: failure @ at drivers/scsi/mpt3sas/mpt3sas_scsih.c:7869/_scsih_probe()!"

Affected operating systems:

Oracle Linux 6 Update 7 and 8, and 7 Update 2 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 4 (UEK4)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 Update 7 and 8, and 7 Update 2

Workaround: Reboot the system.
