The Specimen Observation Event RMIM reflects the design of the information content of messages used to report observation events that include a specimen. These are all the observations that result from a test performed within a laboratory. The message specification enables information about the specimen, prior order, related encounter and the patient whose medical record documents the result. It represents all the quantitative and qualitative observations made on a specimen.
