Show or Hide Oracle ILOM Legacy Targets

As of Oracle ILOM firmware version 3.1, the /SYS, /STORAGE (for servers), and /CH (for blade chassis) namespaces have been replaced by /System. As of Oracle ILOM firmware version 3.2.5, the /Frame (on Netra FMM) namespace is replaced by /System. The /System namespace is a simplified version of the legacy targets, designed for clarity and ease of use.

You can still issue commands to /SYS, /STORAGE, /CH, and /Frame namespace targets on systems running Oracle ILOM 3.2.x, even though these legacy targets might be hidden. This backward compatibility with 3.0 legacy CLI targets ensures that commands and scripts that ran previously for Oracle ILOM 3.0 will continue to work with Oracle ILOM 3.2.x.

You can optionally unhide the /SYS, /STORAGE, /CH, and /Frame namespace targets by issuing one of the following commands.

  • For a server service processor, type:

    set /SP/cli legacy_targets=enabled

  • For a blade chassis CMM, type:

    set /CMM/cli legacy_targets=enabled

When you enable legacy targets on the CMM and Single-Sign On on a blade server is enabled, you can manage the blade server directly from the /CH/BLn target in the CMM CLI. For more information, see Managing Blade Servers From the CMM CLI.

  • For a Netra Modular System FMM, type:

    set /FMM/cli legacy_targets=enabled

When you enable legacy targets on the FMM and Single-Sign On is enabled, you can manage a computer node directly from the /Frame/computenoden target in the FMM CLI.

For more information on CLI targets, see:
