By default, certain items cannot be discounted by Item Discount or Buy One Get One promotions. You can use the REST APIs to override default target values, though there is no way to configure targets through the Marketing tab. The following items cannot be the targets of Item Discount or Buy One Get One promotions. Even if you add them to a promotion’s offer, Oracle Commerce Cloud Service will not consider them for the promotion.
Items already acting as qualifiers for any other Item Discount or Buy One Get One promotion.
Items already discounted by any other Item Discount or Buy One Get One promotion, including the current promotion.
Items with zero prices.
Items with negative prices.
Items whose prices are lower than promotion price.
Note: By default, items on sale do qualify for promotions and can be promotion targets.
