Oracle Master Scheduling/MRP and Oracle Supply Chain Planning Documentation Updates

This document contains important information. Please read this section for the latest updates, revisions, and additions to your user's guide.

Overview of Reviewing Planning Information

Resources for a plan can be viewed from the Planner Workbench window by choosing a button to display the Resources window. This window specifies a plan's resources by department or line. In this window you can also choose buttons to review a resource's items, availability, requirements, and horizontal plans.

With this addition, the other windows accessed from the Planner Workbench also contain a button to display the Resources window.

In previous releases there was a Status button on the Planner Workbench window that displayed the Plan Status window. That window is now accessed through the Special menu.

See: Overview of Planner Workbench, Oracle Master Scheduling/MRP and Oracle Supply Chain Planning User's Guide Overview of Planner Workbench

Generating a Graphical Display of Planning Data

In order to view graphical presentations of your planning data in the Horizontal Material Plan and Horizontal Capacity Plan windows, you must have a browser installed on your computer.

See: Identifying Capacity Problems, Oracle Master Scheduling/MRP and Oracle Supply Chain Planning User's Guide Identifying Capacity Problems

Auto-release Planned Orders

Settings on the Planner Workbench Preferences window are used as defaults for automatically released planned orders. The Supply/Demand region of the Preferences window contains values for Job Status and Job Class for a user. These preferences are used in the process of automatically releasing planned orders.

See: Auto-release Planned Orders, Oracle Master Scheduling/MRP and Oracle Supply Chain Planning User's Guide Auto-release Planned Orders

Capable to Promise (CTP)

In previous releases the inventory profile option, INV - Capable to Promise, was a Yes/No flag for the Capable to Promise feature. In Release 11 this flag has been replaced by three values:

In previous releases the Available to Promise (ATP) Rule was associated with an item. Now in Release 11 the ATP Rule can also be associated with a department and resource combination. This is set in the Oracle Bills of Materials Resource window, or a line as set in the Oracle Work In Process Production Lines window.

The following settings apply to the CTP function:
