Creating Team and Personal Team Bonus Plan Rules


Some compensation plans reward employees according to their territory achievements as well as individual achievements. You can create achievement containers based on meeting territory goals.

To associate a defined territory with a Plan Rule

  1. From the application-level menu, choose View > Site Map > Incentive Compensation Administration > Plans.
  2. In the Plans list, select a plan, and then drill down on the hyperlink in the Name field.
  3. Select the Plan Rules view tab, and in the Plan Rules list, select a plan rule.
  4. In the plan rule record, drill down on the hyperlink in the Name field.
  5. In the Plan Rule form, click the select button in the Sales Territory Name field, and in the Territories dialog box, select the territory associated with the Plan Rule.

    The Sales Territories must be defined in the Plan Rule before the Plan Participants are associated with the Plan so that the territory is automatically copied to each Personal Plan Rule. If you later add more participants to the plan, you must manually associate the correct territory to each participant.

    NOTE:  The Team Bonus Territory level should be the same or higher than the territory in which the transaction sales team member receives a sales credit.

  6. For a Team Bonus Plan Rule, you can set the Participation flag to TRUE or FALSE, depending on whether or not you want to accumulate achievement into team-based Containers, based on the plan participant's effective dates.

    For example, a transaction that would not normally be accumulated into the team-based containers because the sales team member is no longer a plan participant is accumulated into the team container if the Participation flag is set to FALSE.

To create a personal team (area) plan rule

  1. From the application-level menu, choose View > Site Map > Incentive Compensation Administration > Plans.
  2. In the Plans list, select the plan for the personal plan rule territory, and then drill down on the hyperlink in the Name field.
  3. Click the Plan Participants view tab, select a participant in the list, and then drill down on the Last Name field.
  4. In the participant's Personal Plan Rule form, click the select button in the Sales Territories field, and in the Territories dialog box, select one or more territories to associate with the participant.
