The Contract Repository is a tool that assists application developers and system administrators in creating, maintaining, and storing interface contracts between clients and servers within a BEA TUXEDO application. The Active Expert and C++ Expert use the Contract Repository as a data source, and the Rose Expert can be used to populate the Contract Repository with data from a Rational Rose model.

This section explains how to work with the Repository Database via the Contract Repository Editor.

• Logging on and Getting Started. To begin creating interface contracts, you need to start the Contract Repository Editor and log on to it. You can set logon options. If you need to migrate an existing Jolt Repository, use the Migration Utility.

• Creating New Objects. You can add modules, interfaces, operations, structs, and elements using the Contract Repository Editor.

• Modifying Objects. You can modify modules, interfaces, operations, parameters, structs, and elements using the Contract Repository Editor.

• Importing FML and VIEW Files. Describes the FML/VIEW file import as a batch-load process that imports existing BEA TUXEDO FML and VIEW files into the Contract Repository. During the load process, duplicate entries are updated in the Contract Repository using the new information provided in the import file.

• Deleting Objects From the Repository. You can delete modules, interfaces, operations, structs, and elements using the Contract Repository Editor. You cannot delete objects that are referenced by other objects in the Contract Repository database.

• Exporting or Unexporting an Operation. You can export or unexport operations. Export serves as a flag that makes the object available to client applications for use in runtime.

• Testing an Operation. Describes how you can test an operation and its parameters to ensure that all components are functioning properly before you make the operation available to the clients.

• Logging Off and Exiting. Logging off and exiting the Contract Repository Editor windows.

• Troubleshooting. You are notified of any error that occurs by an Alert message. The message prompts you for an action or advises you of the error.
