Understanding ILOM on the Switch
You can use the clia shmstatus command to check the status of the CMCs.
Identify the prerequisite and subsequent tasks you must perform in conjunction with this procedure, to install the switch.
See the table in Installation Sequence.
On the CMC, type:
# clia shmstatus -v Pigeon Point Shelf Manager Command Line Interpreter Host: "Active" Ready For Operation: Yes Detailed State Flags: "Shelf FRU Found" "RMCP Up" #
If the output displays Host: Inactive, use the clia switchover command to activate the CMC.
Check the status of the I2C bus components:
# i2ctest M9 CMC I2C access test started: I2C test of ADM1026 at bus 3 addr 2e -PASSED I2C test of PCA9506 at bus 2 addr 21 -PASSED I2C test of PCA9506 at bus 2 addr 24 -PASSED I2C test of PCA9548 at bus 2 addr 71 -PASSED I2C test of PCA9555 at bus 2 addr 20 -PASSED I2C test of AT64C24 at bus 2 addr 57 -PASSED M9 CMC I2C access test PASSED #
If any test failed, use the switchover command to activate the other CMC and cable it for the rest of the installation process.
Verify that all installed components are recognized as installed:
# showpresent
If an installed component is not recognized, investigate why.
Consider your next step:
Switch Command Reference, shmstatus command
Switch Command Reference, i2ctest command
Switch Command Reference, showpresent command
