Remove the Midplane

1. Power off the installed server modules and the chassis.

   Refer to the documentation for the server modules. Also see Power Off Components in the Chassis and Removing Power From the Chassis.

2. Remove all the modules and filler panels that are installed in the chassis.

   See Remove a Server or Storage Module.

3. Remove the air duct by unfastening the snaps from underneath the power supply cage and tilting the front of the air duct downward to free it from the chassis.
   
4. Loosen the 13 captive screws attaching the midplane to the back of the chassis.

   Caution - Do not touch the connectors on the midplane. You might damage or bend the connector pins.

5. Pull the midplane away from the chassis guide pins, then down to clear the power supply cage.
6. Tilt the midplane slightly to the side to and remove it from the chassis.
7. (If necessary) Install a new midplane.
