In addition to site-specific rules, targeters and content groups can include As Seen On filters, which make it possible to show on one site content that is associated with other sites. For example, when customers browse products on site A, a targeter might display a set of related products from site B.

Each rule for a content group or targeter, including the default rule, can include an As Seen On filter. If you do not specify an As Seen On filter, the default behavior is to search only the current site.

When you fill out the General tab for a new content group or targeter, you must select a Content Source that is a multisite repository item with site membership, and a Content Type that has site membership. By default, the selections that qualify are:

To use the As Seen On site filter:

When a targeter references one or more content groups and the rules for both items use site filters, the As Seen On site filters must not explicitly conflict. Avoid a configuration such as the one in the following table:
