To use CIM, do the following:
Install the Oracle Commerce Platform according to the instructions in Installation Procedure. Follow the procedure until you reach the step that requires CIM.
Start CIM.
On Microsoft Windows, select Start > All Programs > Oracle Commerce Platform 11.1 > Tools > ATG Configuration Installation Manager from the programs section of the Windows Start menu.
On any operating system, invoke the following script.
<ATG11dir>\home\bin\cim.bat|sh
Follow the prompts to configure your installation. You need the information described in Before Using CIM. To access the online help, enter H at any point in the configuration process.
WebSphere In order to use CIM to configure an Oracle Commerce Platform installation for WebSphere, your WebSphere installation needs to use cell deployment. Use the IBM WebSphere Network Deployment version for this type of installation, denoted by ND. Also, note that if you run WebSphere as the root user of a UNIX or Linux operating system, also run CIM as the root user.
Note: Ensure that you have only one instance of CIM running from the same Oracle Commerce Platform installation. When more than one instance of CIM is run, errors will occur.
