Because most aspects of configuration for dimensions and Endeca record properties are accomplished through index-config.json, take time to become familiar with its structure and content before you begin configuration.

Several attribute parameters are common to attributes that configure dimensions and to those that configure properties. Most parameters, however, are applicable to only one of these two types of attribute. Common parameters, dimension parameters, and property parameters are described in the sections immediately below.

In addition, several parameters are applicable only to derived properties; for more information, see Configuring aggregated records and derived properties.

The following tables describe the parameters of attributes in index-config.json that configure Endeca dimensions and properties of Endeca records. Optional attributes are noted as such.
