Remarks on program function

The data for connection of a payment terminal, type Spectra 3 Wireless, can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed for information.

Note:
In addition, the device interface from type "IP Address", device name and its own "Server-Address" and the port number(e.g. XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:PPPP) and a corresponding payment type as well as the assigned Process unit for the EFT Service must be configured.

Attention!
Please add the following environment variable in oscar.ini as long as Spectracard doesn't provide a 3rd party software version where all terminals have unique terminal reference numbers.

SpectraMobileWorkaroundTimeout=time in seconds

Time in seconds is the time a payment may takes. If that time has been elapsed after an RFP query, the driver allows all terminals to repeat that request. In the meantime, the request may only be repeated by the same operator.

Remarks on data fields

The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.

As with nearly all programs the following also applies here:

The entry mask for this program may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program. Some data fields may be missing.
There may be defaults or firmly defined selection options for some data fields. These cannot be updated in the current program.
Fields with enforced entry defined are to be found in the entry masks as are fields where entry is optional.
If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks, the dialog window is reached by clicking onto the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
The same procedure also applies to call up of another update program from this program.
In some cases you may find so-called "Switches" which are activated or deactivated by the user with the <Mouse key 1>, depending on the setting. Activated switches have a dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.

Debug

Field with firmly defined selection options

Select one of the offered debug levels by clicking on this field and with a second click selecting the level required.

The system offers the following:

0 = no protocol of data communication in file "errlog"
1 =
2 =
3 =
4 = all communication data in file "errlog"

Note:
Only select a value higher than "0" for the debug level if a protocol for communication of the terminal is necessary for error analysis.

Usage

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 9

Default = 1

A number to identify the terminal should be entered in this field. The value entered must match the value entered in the appropriate Payment type , i.e. the payment terminal which is selected has this no. in program Payment type.

The system offers the following languages:

Country code

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 2 pos.

Enter in this field the country code.

Default = SE for Sweden

Local currency

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 – 999

Enter in this field the ISO-Currency code.

Default = 752 (Swedish krona)

Decimal digits

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 -3

Default = 2

Enter a value in this field to specify the number of decimal places fort he home currency.

Poll timeout

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 999999

Default setting = 10000 milliseconds

Note:
Maximum time between incoming request and answer back (default 10000 = 10 seconds).

Character timeout

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 999999

Default setting = 100 milliseconds

The value in this field defines the maximum waiting time in milliseconds, after an incomplete received message will be confirmed as an transaction error.
