User Table [PDT]

Remarks on the Program Function

By use of this program, you can maintain basic data. You can also view the already stored data for information purposes.

The operator has to have been given the authority to operate the Portable Display Terminal. For this purpose, enter the authorized operators in the user table in this window. When an operator starts a program at the PDT, his operator name will be inquired.

Attention!

• Since there is only one user file for all PDT devices, the branches cannot be managed separately.

Remarks on the Input Fields

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these basic data

Just like in almost any other program:

• The input mask may be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the application. In some cases some data fields may be missing.
• Some input fields may contain default values or defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
• The input mask contains some fields that require an entry and others in which entries are optional.
• If the data record is updated via multi-page input masks, go to the dialog window by clicking on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
• The same procedure applies to call up another update program from this program.
• In some cases you may find that so-called "Switches" which - depending on the default - can be activated or deactivated with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches are identified by their dark color, deactivated switches are lighter-colored.

Company

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the company in the area of which the user table is to be created.

Branch

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 999999

Enter the number of the branch in which the user table is to be deployed.

Remember that there is only one user file for all PDT devices. Therefore, the branches cannot be managed separately.

Operator

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 999999

Enter the number of the operator who operates the PDT.

Descriptor

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars.

Enter  a free text here (e.g. PDT operator 11).

Create User File [Button]

When you click on the button "Create User File", a selection window is opened. By entries in the fields "From Operator" and "To Operator" you can define who is to be included in the user list. The output takes place either on the screen or via a connected printer. Even if there is an input field in which you can select the branch, keep in mind that there is only one user file for all PDT devices. Therefore, the branches cannot be managed separately.

After you have chosen the output medium, the user list will be created. Then, you receive a protocol (on the screen or as a printout) which lists the operators and which also contains the path of the user file, e.g. in: WrittenIn ../work/USERS.DAT.
