Price Terminal
The program description is divided up as follows:
The data of the Price Terminal can be updated,
i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has already
been stored can also be displayed.
The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application supports the use of a price Terminal
from type "SCANTECH Discovery Terminal"
The procedure is as follows for setting
up a price terminal for the connection to MICROS Retail OSCAR POS:
- Create a program under System
-> User interface -> Applications for Program type Price terminal. Enter a free no. and
a program name (e.g. Price terminal).
- A Process unit
of type "Oscar Client" should be created with the option
"has database" under System -> Configuration
-> Process units for the program Price terminal. Enter the name
used in program type Price terminal in field Program name.
Please ensure that the spelling is identical. Select the linked system
unit on which the program is to be started automatically.
- The environment variable "COMPORT=1"
must be entered in the file "oscar.ini" to define the COM-Port
for the connected price terminal.
- A data record of a price terminal must be
linked to the branch in program Application -> Organisation ->
Branch -> Price terminal.
- Please ensure that a valid price list is
linked to the assigned Profit center.
The following description deals with all available options
for update of this basic
data.
As with nearly all programs the following also applies
here:
- The entry mask in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program may differ for this program. Some data fields may be missing.
- There may be defaults or firmly defined
selection options for some data fields. These cannot be updated in the
current program.
- Fields with enforced entry defined are to
be found in the entry masks as are fields where entry is optional.
- If the data record is updated over several
pages of entry masks, the dialog window, is reached by
clicking onto the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
- The same procedure also applies to call
up of another update program for this program.
- In some cases you may find so-called
"Switches" which are activated or deactivated by the user with
<Mouse key 1> depending on the setting. Activated switches have a
dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.
Company
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999
Enter the company number to which the price terminal is to
be assigned.
If you do not know the number, you can select the data
record via the Search function.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999
Enter the branch number to which the price terminal is to
be assigned.
If you do not know the number, you can select the data
record via the Search function.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999
Enter the number of the profit center to which the price
terminal is to be assigned.
If you do not know the number, you can select the data
record via the Search function.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999
Enter the number of the scanner ID in this
field. The number must be in accordance with the connected price terminal.
Entries permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars.
Assign a name to this price terminal.
