Product Location (Fast Food)

The following program description deals with:


Remarks on the Program Function

By use of this program you can maintain the basic data of the product locations in the system, i.e., insert new records, change or delete the existing ones. You can also display the data on the screen for enquiry only.

In an MICROS Retail OSCAR POS Fast Food system the product locations show the staff in the kitchen, grill, etc. which items still have to be prepared.
The items of an order are sent by the
Drive-in counter and are displayed on the screen. After being processed, the operator must confirm the respective item as produced to clear it from the screen. One Process unit must be set up in the system for each product locations (with program ProdSrv).

Remarks on the Input Fields

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these Basic Data.

Just like in almost any other program:


Company

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Select the number of the company assigned to the branch of the product location.

If you do not know the number, you can also select the data record via the Search Function. Companies are maintained using the Company Maintenance Program.


Branch

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Number of branch assigned to the product location.

If you do not know the number, you can also select the data record via the Search Function.

Branches are maintained using the Branch Maintenance Program.


Production table

Permitted input range: numeric, 0 - 999

Enter the no. of the Production table in this field.

If you do not know the number, the data record can be selected with the Search function.

The production table must also be linked to the terminal which has been configured as the Drive-in counter for operation of a fast food system.

Production type

Permitted input range: numeric, 0 - 999

Every production type has to be programmed in the system as a processing unit (program name ProdSrv) under an obvious no. to underline the linkage of this no. to company and branch.

A new production type is programmed after assignment of a free number. If changes or deletions are required, the data record can be retrieved from entry of the production type no.. If you do not know the number, the data record can be selected with the Search function.

Designation

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

The name of the production location is discretionary. It should, however, be meaningful, e.g. Kitchen, Grill, etc., to make search simpler.


Installation

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

The number of the installation is provided automatically on the basis of the link to branch.


Process unit

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Enter the no. of the processing unit which is linked to the product location. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with the Search function.

Product locations help the staff in the kitchen, grill, etc. to establish which items are still open.
The articles are sent by the
Drive-in counter and are displayed on the screen. After the item has been produced, the operator must confirm this status to clear the item from the screen.
One

Active

Button activated:. This product location is active, i.e. linked articles appear on the screen 

Button deactivated: This product location is not active, i.e. linked articles do not appear on the screen.


Alt.product location

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99

Enter the no. of the product location which can be used as the alternative product location. If a problem arises, the production items will be forwarded to the new location. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with the Search function.

Product locations help the staff in the kitchen, grill, etc. to recognise which products are still open.
Am The articles are sent by the
Drive-in counter and are displayed on the screen. After the item has been produced, the operator must confirm this status to clear the item from the screen.
One
Process unit each must be set up in the system (with program ProdSrv).

Background color

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Select the number of the colour to define the background colour for buttons in the linked product.

The number for the colours stored in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS system can be found in the Color table.


Foreground color

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Select the number of the colour to define the foreground colour for buttons in the linked product.

The number for the colours stored in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS system can be found in the Color table.
