Remote Printer

In the system, different types of remote printers can be connected to the system units. The type of receipt print (e.g. single receipt, double receipt, talon, etc.) can also be established.

The type of receipt is defined in program Printer parameter as per the setting in programs Department and Item.

At the moment, the following types are supported:

  1. Kitchen Printer (of the types ADS 400064, ADS 402064, ADS 403064)
  2. Epson TM 80
  3. Epson TM 300

Beside connecting the printers physically to the system units, they have also to be defined with programs in the system before they can operate properly.

The assignment of articles to remote printer is achieved by defining a Printer Type in the Printer Table, which can be different for each sales counter. In this way, the same article can be printed on different printers at different sales counters.

The installation of remote printer is to be performed as follows:

  1. Install a Process Unit of the type Device.
  2. Install a Device from one of the supported printer types, e.g. ADS xxxx64, Epson TM 300, Epson TM80, etc..
  3. Assign the connected printer to the process unit of the type Device.
  4. Create a table with the maintenance program Print Table, where the different printer types are defined and stored. The printer table is assigned to a branch and applies to all sales counters of the branch. Different tables can also be defined in the system for the individual sales counters of the branch.
  5. Define the Printer Type with a unique number. The type number is used internally in the system as an index. A descriptive name is also assigned to the printer type.
  6. Items are linked to a printer type in Department or Item to define the printer on which the kitchen receipts are to be produced.
  7. The type of print (single receipt, collective receipt, kitchen receipt, kitchen receipt GC, etc.) can be defined in the Printer parameter table. The settings are dependent on the settings made in the appropriate  Item and Department record. The setting for collective receipt can also be made in program Printer description.
