By use of this program you can maintain the basic data of the printer parameters in the system, i.e., add new records, change or delete the existing ones. The stored data can be displayed on the screen for enquiry only.
In the first step, the printers are created with a respective number in a Print Table. In this program Printer Description, the printer types are defined for the printers under these numbers.

These functions are achieved by using four programs/subprograms in the system.

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these Basic Data.
Just like in almost any other program:
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999
Select the number of the company to which the printer is to be assigned.

Select the number of the branch to which the printer is to be assigned.

Select the number of the printer table to which the printer is to be assigned.

Enter into this field the number of the printer type, which is to be defined or modified. If you do not know the number, you can select the data record via the Search Function.
The definition and maintenance of the printer types are performed using the program Printer Type.

Enter the corresponding installation number which is set up using the program Installation.
For changes or deletions, the record can be retrieved by entering the number in the key field. If you do not know the number, you can select the data record via the Search Function.

Enter into this field the number of the corresponding processing unit which is set up using the program Process Unit.

Enter the device no. in this field under which the printer has been defined in program Device. It it has not yet been programmed, the button can be used to branch to the update program where a new device can be programmed.

The auxiliary process is defined in this field. If the server process fails, the system automatically switches over to this server. Diversion is only possible within one device.
Enter the number of the appropriate processing unit, which is set up using the program Process Units.

Enter the device no. of the auxiliary printer in this field. The update of the device is done with the same name program.
Button activated : The printer is used as a local printer for the assigned terminal, i.e., a remote printer receipt will be printed on the terminal printer.
Button deactivated : The printer is used not only as a local printer.
The unique assignment of Terminal - Printer (see Tip) enables a printer of a specific terminal to serve as a local printer, but can be also used simultaneously as a remote printer by another terminal. The button will only be activated if the POS printer is also to operate as a remote printer.
Button activated: The receipt is printed on the printer entered under Server process and also under Aux.Server Process.
Button deactivated: The receipt
is printed on the printer entered under Server process. Print will only be on
the auxiliary printer if this one fails.
Button activated :
Activate this option if collective receipts are to be printed on this printer.
Button deactivated : Collective
receipts are not possible for printing on this printer. If the switch is not
activated, the respective entries set in the Printer
Parameter Program will be invalid. If the button is not activated, no
collective stubs [GC] can be printed.
The collective receipt analyses what is in the kitchen stub/kitchen stub GC. It is activated, it is simultaneously the default setting if parameter No entry has been set in Item and Department (see information in Print control remote print under Definition of receipt type in window Item).
Button activated:
Activate this option if a hint for the next course is to be printed on the
kitchen printer.
Button deactivated: Deactivate
this option if no hint is required on the kitchen printer for the next course.
Note:
If items with course linkage have been recorded during a Guest Check, key <NEXTCOURSE> can be used after
re-selection of the GC or after receipt end to print a receipt with information
about the next course. If the key is depressed and there are no courses stored
or if all courses have been printed, an error message will be displayed at the
terminal.
This information is required by the staff at the production location so that they can start to prepare the next course.
