The program description deals with the following:
Update basic data, i.e. programming, changing or clearing, is possible with this program. Data which has already been stored can be displayed for information.
A kitchen printer can be programmed, the interface and link to a processing unit defined and the device-specific operating type set.
The printer can be used as a POS printer or as a remote (kitchen) printer.
Note:
Please note that kitchen printers are controlled by
a process unit, type MICROS Retail OSCAR POS device, i.e. a processing unit of type MICROS Retail OSCAR POS
device must be installed on the system unit to which the remote printer
is physically connected..
Click
on the graphic for further help with programming of Remote printer.
The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.
As with nearly all programs the following applies here:
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999
Enter the number of the installation to which this device has been/is to be linked. The name of the installation is then shown on the right-hand side. No device can be entered without this link.
Enter a free no. in the key fields if a new installation is to be programmed.
Changes or clear operations are carried out after call up of the data record from entry of the no. in the key fields. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with the search function.
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999
Enter the number of the processing unit to which this device is to be/has been linked. The name of the processing unit is shown on the right-hand side. No device can be programmed without this link.
Enter a free no. in the key fields if a new processing unit is to be programmed.

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999
Enter the number of the device. This can be selected as required. Please note that various number ranges should apply to specific devices (e.g. 10 to 20 for printers, 30 to 40 for operating modules, etc.).
Enter a free no. in the key fields for new programming.
Changes or clear operations are carried out after call up of the data record from entry of the no. in the key fields. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 chars.
Enter the name of the device in this field. Text entry should describe the device clearly (e.g. EPS-80 printer system unit 6, etc.).
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99
Enter the number of the Interface to which the device is to be/has been connected. Please ensure that this interface on this system unit has not been linked to another device.
If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 chars.
Enter the serial no. of this device in this field.
Switch active: One drawer is connected to this kitchen
printer
Switch deactivated: .No drawer is connected to this kitchen

This option can only be switched on for test purposes and for error analysis.
Field with firmly defined selection options
Select one of the offered printer types by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selection.
The system offers the following printer types:
Entry range permitted: numeric 0 - 254 (only even addresses)
The LSV address via which the connected printer is to communicate with the system unit is entered in this field. The address is dependent on the hardware setting of the printer. Please note that only even addresses should be assigned (0, 2, 4, 8, etc.)
Note:
With type LSV please ensure that all connected
printers are operated with the same baud rate.
Field with firmly defined selection options
Select one of the offered debug levels by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selection.
The system offers the following debug levels:
Note:
Only select a value higher than "0" for
the debug level if a protocol for communication of the printer is required for
error analysis. The details are shown in file "errlog" in directory work of the appropriate system unit.
Default = 4
The number of lines the receipt is to advance after the last line has been printed and before it is cut off is entered here.
Default = 40
A value for the number of characters to be printed per line is entered in this field.
