Index fields are examined for possible matches with the shopper’s search term only if:
They have been marked as searchable. Fields can be marked searchable by the merchandiser, on the Search tab of Oracle Commerce Cloud Service. For information, refer to Using Oracle Commerce Cloud Service.
They have been added to the search interface as members, on the Search tab of the Oracle Commerce Cloud Service, or through the Search API.
Stopping a member in a search interface from being searched
You can stop a member of the search interface from being searched in either of the following ways:
Remove the field from the search interface, using either the Search tab or the Search Interface API.
Make this member not searchable by unchecking
Searchable
for this member in the Search tab of Oracle Commerce Cloud Service.
