Time Collection Device Setup and Maintenance Tasks
For third-party collection methods, you need to complete the time entry and processing configuration tasks. To transfer data and process events, you also need to complete these configuration tasks for your time collection devices.
Unless otherwise indicated, these tasks are in the Setup and Maintenance work area, Workforce Deployment offering, Time and Labor functional area.

| Time Device Event Mapping Sets | Create collections of device event mappings. For example, add mappings for shift start, breaks, and shift stop to a set. | |

| Time Rule Templates, Time Rules, and Time Rule Sets | Validate and process time device and web clock events by creating time device and submission rule templates, rules, and rule sets. The import process runs these rules for both time device and web clock events. |

Build group membership for a specific date or range of dates. Run this process regularly so that everyone always has the appropriate configuration for time device processing. During implementation, refresh the groups that we provide so that you link everyone to a default time processing profile. |

| Time Device Processing Profiles | Link device mappings, device and submission rules, and export data to groups of people. You can also set time attributes that the Generate Time Cards from Time Collection Device process uses to match In and Out events. It uses the matched events to create complete, valid time entries. | |
| Scheduled Processes task, Generate Time Cards from Time Collection Device process | Schedule onetime and recurring processes to validate imported time device and Web Clock data. Generate time exceptions for any invalid data, and create and update time cards with valid data at appropriate intervals. This task is in the Time Management work area. |
