Design a PDF Template for a Form

A form in an interview is generated from the associated form template. In order to design a PDF form template, you need to have a PDF editing tool (for example, Adobe Acrobat DC).

You also need to have added a new PDF form, or imported an existing PDF form, into your project.

Tip: Using an existing PDF form allows you to pre-populate the same form used in an organization's existing paper-based process with data collected in the Intelligent Advisor interview.

The template file can then be opened for editing in your preferred PDF editing tool. This will also launch the Intelligent Advisor PDF Form Assistant.

The PDF Form Assistant is used to obtain the Intelligent Advisor field codes that are added to the template to insert information from the interview.

A PDF form template can include normal components such as text and images, as well as data collected or inferred during the interview such as attributes and attribute values, check boxes and explanations. (Note that Analytics Publisher does not support the insertion of Intelligent Advisor signatures and barcodes in PDF form templates.)

Forms that are generated from PDF form templates can be created as PDF (default) or XML files. For more information, see Specify the File Type for a Form.

Tip: PDF form templates are demonstrated in the Healthy Eating and Warranty example projects installed with Policy Modeling.
