Apps
Applications are specialized programs that app developers have built to extend the functionality of an Oracle Marketing product. Apps are comprised of services, which represent the functionality of the app. An app can contain multiple different services.
App Development
App Developers host their applications externally outside of CX Apps. Apps have no executable code in CX Apps. CX Apps only hosts your app URLs, the actual app hosting is the App Developers responsibility. Apps are developed to interact with a set of CX APIs.

App Management
The CX App Manager is used to manage all aspects of registering the app to be used for CX Apps and managing the app's use within Oracle Marketing products.
The CX App Manager enables providers to:
- Brand their app by using company logos that will appear within the Oracle Marketing products
- Enter the URLs that CX Apps should call out to when CX users interact with the App Provider's app for events like app installation, app configuration and so on
- Track app installation metrics
- Manage an app's publication status for Oracle Marketing products
Example App in Oracle Marketing products
Oracle Marketing products who have installed an app will see their apps within the app catalog.
When it's time to use the app within a product, the app's services are used.
