Managing shared content

You can copy, rename, delete, and organize shared content in the component library. See Creating shared content for how to create and edit content.

Before you begin:

  • You must resolve all dependencies before you can delete shared content. When you try to delete shared content with dependencies, Oracle Eloqua displays them for you so that you can resolve them.
  • Ensure you have the necessary asset permissions. These permissions control the actions that you can perform with shared content.

To manage your shared content:

  1. Navigate to Assets An image of the Assets icon, which is represented by a black pencil. > Components, then click Shared Content.

  2. Search for the shared content you want to manage.
  3. Right-click the content and choose an action:

An image of the right click menu.

Note; There are some important details about the following actions:

    • Copy: The copied content appears in the list as "Original Name: Copy."
    • Delete: You cannot delete shared content with dependencies. When deleting content, the Dependencies window displays the content's dependencies so you can resolve them.

Editing shared content

Note: If you are using shared content in an HTML email or HTML landing page, you are not able to edit the content directly via the email or landing page source editor.

You can edit shared content through the component library to alter the content across all assets. See Creating shared content about the editor's functionality.

Troubleshooting

Here are some tips if you encountered issues:

  • You cannot delete shared content with dependencies. When deleting content, the Dependencies window displays the dependencies so you can resolve them.
  • You may not have permission to perform the action. Contact your administrator about your default permissions.
