Generating Narrative Insights for Invoices
With the Narrative Insights feature, you can use generative artificial intelligence (generative AI) to quickly understand key details in an Invoice record. Narrative Insights summarizes important information, such as invoice status, payment-related signals, linked transactions, and potential issues that may require attention.
The insights reflect the available record context at the time of generation. Because the content is AI-generated, responses can vary across runs, even for the same record.

This feature helps you:

Quickly understand an invoice by summarizing the most relevant details in one view.

Focus your next actions by highlighting payment and reconciliation signals that may need follow-up.

Identify potential issues earlier, such as unusual data patterns, typos, or transaction inconsistencies.

Spend less time manually reviewing related records to gather invoice context.
This feature is available to users who can access Invoice records and have the required record permissions.
The Enable Narrative Insights preference on the AI Preferences page controls whether you can generate insights. This preference is enabled by default. Users with the Administrator role can manage this preference at any time.

To generate insights for an invoice:

Open the invoice record you want to review.

Click the Generate Insight button.

Review the generated insights.
Depending on available data, the insights can include:

Transaction Information, such as identifying details, status, and invoice context.

Payment and Application Details, such as amount due, due date, and related transactions.

Points of Interest, such as anomalies, inconsistencies, or possible data-quality issues.
The insights may omit a section when it finds no meaningful information.
Before using this feature, note the following:

Data privacy and accuracy: Narrative Insights is AI-generated and may contain inaccuracies or omissions. Verify all important details using source records.

Variability: Generated text may differ, even when record data appears unchanged.
