Edit a UPS Shipping Item Name

Important:

NetSuite Ship Central is NetSuite's standard shipping solution. For more information, see NetSuite Ship Central.

The Shipping Integration with FedEx, UPS, and USPS/Endicia is not available to new customers. It is available with limited support only for existing customers before they transition to NetSuite Ship Central.

NetSuite lets you modify the name of a UPS shipping item. NetSuite displays the new name on all transaction forms and the web store.

To charge customers a shipping rate, select UPS Real-Time Rate when you create a UPS Integration shipping item.

UPS Real-Time Rate isn't available in NetSuite OneWorld accounts.

New Name Best Practices

Follow these best practices when entering a new name for a UPS shipping item:

  • You can add only a suffix to the automatically assigned integrated UPS service name (Ship Name).

    For more information, see UPS Real-Time Rates.

  • Don't delete the auto-assigned Ship Name. For example, UPS Ground.

  • Make sure the new Ship Name is unique.

  • Leave one space between the Ship Name and the suffix.

  • The suffix can't be longer than 20 characters. Enclose it in parentheses.

    You can use the following character types in the suffix:

    • Uppercase and lowercase letters

    • Numbers

    • Non-alphanumeric ASCII characters: space, hyphen, and underscore

If you don't follow these guidelines, NetSuite won't save the new name.

To edit the UPS Ship Name:

  1. Go to Lists > Accounting > Shipping Items.

  2. Beside the item you want to update, click Edit.

  3. In the Shipping Item page, edit the Ship Name.

  4. Click Save.
