Review a Satellite Network Interface

You can review settings for a satellite network interface on a Cloud Connector's Network tab. Some values may be editable.

Tab Overview

When you choose a satellite interface on the network tab, Oracle ECP shows several scorecards on the screen. When you click each scorecard, Oracle ECP shows a trend graph below the scorecard row that corresponds to that scorecard's historical information.

In addition to the graphs representing scorecard data, the Network tab for the Satellite Interface also contains the following graphs:

Satellite interface bandwidth rate - This graph displays transmitted and received bandwidth over time, in both bits per second (Throughput) and packets per second (Packets). The default display is the last 30 minutes, which can be changed with the period drop-down located above the graph.
- Latency is also available on this graph by selecting Latency from the drop-down menu, which shows locally-reported latency for this WAN interface.
Bandwidth Distribution Chart - This displays the bandwidth allocation for the Satellite network interface by User Apps, Control Channel, and Devices.
Bandwidth Performance Test Graph - If a bandwidth performance test ran during the selected period, this graph displays the download and upload rates over time. The x-axis shows time, and the y-axis shows speed.
Monthly Usage History - The chart displays monthly satellite data usage. The x-axis shows the month, and the y-axis shows usage. Each bar represents usage for one calendar month. Hover over a bar to view the month, monthly limit, and usage. The chart also displays over usage for a month when usage exceeds the monthly limit.
A monthly usage history chart displays a bar for a calendar month only when usage data is available for every day of that month. This applies after the telemetry data-retention policy is enforced. For example, with a 30-day retention policy, if data for the first day of a 31-day month has been purged, the chart does not display a bar for that month. This behavior applies to all monthly usage history charts.

Note:
The amount of monthly usage history displayed depends on the telemetry data-retention policy. By default, monthly usage history is retained and displayed for up to 12 months. If Oracle changes the retention policy, the chart displays only the monthly usage history retained by that policy. See Storage Management for more information.

Context

From the Network tab, choose an option that lets you check or update satellite network interface.

Procedure

Log on to Oracle ECP and go to the Inventory page.
Click the first drop-down at the top of the page and click Edge Nodes.
Check for the Cloud Connector by name to choose the row for the equipment that requires satellite interface updates, then click the link in the Name column.
The Edge Node Details page opens.
Click the drop-down at the top of the Network tab to choose the satellite interface.
To review the satellite interface settings, click Network Settings.
The Satellite-WAN2 Network Settings drawer opens.

Oracle ECP displays the following values for your review.

Enable

This toggle for enabling the satellite interface.

Network Preference

Based on the Internet preference setting, the priority of this WAN interface.

MAC Address

The Medium Access Control (MAC) address assigned to the network interface.

IP Address

The IP address that identifies the Cloud Connector on the network.

Subnet Mask

The a subnet for the IP address.

Gateway

The IP address of the host on the network that will send local network traffic to other networks.

DNS

The IP address of the Domain Name System (DNS) server.

If you have changed any values, click Save to update the settings, otherwise click cancel to return to the Network tab.
