Add-On Services

The Device Control Platform cloud service provides the core capabilities of bring-your-own-device (BYOD) load control programs. This service must be used in conjunction with one of the following add-on services:

• Thermostat Control Cloud Service
• Other Device Control Cloud Service

Thermostat Control Cloud Service

The Thermostat Control Cloud Service is a per-device fee to connect and control thermostat devices. A utility cannot run a load control event that controls thermostats without purchasing this service.

Other Device Control Cloud Service

The Other Device Control Cloud Service is a per-device fee to connect devices other than thermostats to a load control event. Other devices might include electric vehicle chargers, hot water heaters, and batteries. A utility cannot run a load control event that controls these devices without purchasing this service.
