View a data mining graph

  1. In the left navigation pane, hover on the Data Analysis icon (Data Analysis icon), then click Data Mining Results.
  2. On the Select Criteria page, choose the run from the Run name drop-down list. Your Default Run user preference determines which run is selected by default.
    • To view all available runs, click Browse.
    • To see the details of the run, click View Run Details, examine the details, then click Close.
  3. Specify the selection criteria by completing steps 3 through 5 on Load the run and select variables.

Specify at least one drug term or one event term. For graphs to be available, you can specify no more than 200 drug terms or 200 event terms.

    • The limit of 200 is based on terms that are actually in the results.
    • The limit of 200 is the number of terms remaining after applying restrictions on the Select Criteria page. For example, if you specify 300 PTs and EBGM > 5, and there are fewer than 200 drug-event combinations for which EBGM > 5, graphs are available.
    • You can display a sector map only if you specify no more than 5 drugs (that are actually in the results). The limit of 5 applies regardless of restrictions on the Select Criteria page.
    • For MGPS runs, if you select the terms at a higher level in the hierarchy than the level at which data mining was performed (for example, you specify an HLGT and data mining was performed on PTs), typically the run includes more than 200 PTs.
  4. Click Choose Graph.
  5. From the Associations selected for graphing, select the graph to generate:
    • Review a drug and its associations with other items (drugs or events)—These graphs focus on a particular drug or drugs that you specified on the Select Criteria page. For example, suppose that you are interested in all the events associated with DrugA. You select DrugA on the Select Criteria page and then choose a graph to review results for the events associated with DrugA.
    • Review an event and its associations with other items (drugs or events)—These graphs focus on a particular event or events that you specified on the Select Criteria page. For example, suppose that you are interested in all the drugs associated with Event1. You select Event1 on the Select Criteria page and then choose a graph to review results for the drugs associated with Event1.

    Note:

If you are viewing results of a three-dimensional run and you specify 2 as the dimension (on the Select Criteria page ), you can view graphs for the two-dimensional combinations in the results.
  6. If you want to modify the graph key (for all graphs), click Set Graph Cutpoint and Palette Choices, make your choices, and click Save to return to the Choose Graph page.
  7. Choose a graph type and click its link.
  8. Specify graph display options and click Display. For information about setting display options, see the descriptions of each graph:
