The following topics introduce the new and changed features of Oracle WebCenter Content and other significant changes that are described in this guide, with cross-references to additional information.
This section describes the following new and changed features for Oracle WebCenter Content 11g (11.1.1.9):
Information about how to set up the WebCenter Content user interface, in addition to the native 11g user interface, was added. This interface, for Oracle WebCenter Content Server, is based on the Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle ADF). See Chapter 15, "Installing and Configuring the WebCenter Content User Interface."
The preferred type of security store for security artifacts, including policies and credentials, is now Oracle Platform Security Services (OPSS) in Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.1 or later), rather than Oracle Internet Directory. You can use Oracle Internet directory or another Lightweight Directory Application Protocol (LDAP) provider instead. See Chapter 8, "Creating a Domain for an Enterprise Deployment."
Oracle WebCenter Capture was rebranded to Oracle WebCenter Enterprise Capture.
This section describes the following new and changed features for Oracle WebCenter Content 11g (11.1.1.8):
Oracle WebCenter Enterprise Capture, which provides scalable document capture for centralized or distributed enterprises, extending the Oracle WebCenter Content domain with a new Managed Server

Administration Server interface changes in Oracle WebCenter Content Server, in the following sections:
For 11g Release 1 (11.1.1), this guide has been reorganized and updated in several ways:
The topology has changed to eliminate the SOAHOST1 and SOAHOST2 hosts. The Oracle SOA Suite Managed Servers are installed and configured on the same two host machines as other managed servers, WCCHOST1 and WCCHOST2. See Section 1.1, "Overview of the Enterprise Deployment Reference Topology."
The order of extending the domain with Managed Servers has changed to focus more on Oracle WebCenter Content. See Section 1.6, "Roadmap for the Reference Topology Installation and Configuration."
Reassociating the policy story and identity store with an external LDAP provider has been moved to a new chapter, before any of the domain extensions. See Chapter 8, "Creating a Domain for an Enterprise Deployment."
Some chapters have been revised for consistency with Oracle Fusion Middleware enterprise deployment guides for other products. See Chapter 3, "Preparing the Network for an Enterprise Deployment," and Chapter 4, "Preparing the File System for an Enterprise Deployment."
