Deleted assets are handled differently depending on the project in which they were created. When you create an asset and then delete it in the same project, the asset is removed immediately from ATG Merchandising and the underlying database.

If you delete assets created in previously checked-in projects, those assets display in the Project tab with a red line through them. Note that such assets appear as deleted only in your project. Users working in other projects will not see the deletion until your current project is checked in. In your project, however, the deleted asset won’t appear in any tabs except the Project tab, which you can use to restore the asset to its pre-project state. When you check in a project that includes deleted assets, you remove the asset from the ATG Merchandising UI and the deployment target database; however, previous versions of the asset exist in the database and are visible in the ATG Business Control Center. See the Viewing an Asset’s History section of the ATG Content Administration Guide for Business Users for information.
