Before You Begin

• Install the Java^TM 2 SDK, version 1.3.1, Standard Edition
• Resource the following links for pertinent information:
  • Release Notes
  • System Requirements
  • Getting Started Guide, Enterprise Edition
• Download Forte for Java release 3.0, Enterprise Edition
• Install the iPlanet Application Server Enterprise Edition Version 6.5 or download an evaluation copy of iPlanet Application Server Version 6.5

Getting Started

• Create J2EE web modules (containing servlets and JSPs)
• Create entity and session EJBs (stateless/stateful and bean managed/container managed persistence) and EJB module
• Package modules into a J2EE application
• Deploy the J2EE application or module to an iPlanet Application Server instance

The iPlanet Integration Module integrates with Forte for Java Enterprise Edition Version 3.0.
