VMware ESXi 5.x installation will fail on systems with the internal Sun Storage 6 Gb SAS PCIe HBA connected to 1.2 TB drives that have non-RAID volumes.
Workaround
Use Oracle System Assistant (pressing F9 when prompted during system boot) or the HBA LSI Configuration Utility (pressing Ctrl+A when prompted during system boot) to create RAID volumes (either RAID 0, 1 or 10) on all drives.
