The inventory framework facilitates inventory querying and inventory management for your sites. It allows you to:
Remove items from inventory.
Notify the store of a customer’s intent to purchase an item that is not currently in stock (backorder) or has never been in stock (preorder).
Make a specific number of items available for customers to purchase, backorder, or preorder.
Determine and modify the number of items available for purchase, backorder, or preorder.
Determine when a specific item will be in stock.
Inventory information is stored in the Inventory repository, which is separate from the product catalog. You can use the ACC to view, add and delete inventory items, and edit their property values.
Core Commerce also includes an HTML-based administration interface for the Inventory Manager. Administrators can use this interface to view the results of the inventory query operations, manipulate the various properties of each item, and notify the system of inventory updates.
