Using the Core Commerce quoting framework, you can configure several quote-related functions. The framework provides components that allow you to configure your site so that the following actions can occur:
Request a Quote – A customer requests that a quote be made on an order, meaning all items within their shopping cart.
Submit a Quote to the Customer – Once the customer has requested a quote and your third-party quoting system has generated a quote, you can mark the quote as completed and submit it to the customer.
Review a quote – Once the quote has been submitted to the customer by your quoting system, its status is changed to QUOTED and the customer can review the quote. Once the customer has reviewed the quote, they can take one of three actions:
Request a Requote – The customer can request that the quote be revised.
Accept a Quote – The customer accepts the offered quote and continues the checkout process with the new pricing.
Reject a Quote – The customer can reject the offered quote.
