When a user logs into a Web site or into an Oracle Commerce Platform product, a UserAuthority object authenticates the user’s login name and password. A user authority determines identities throughout the Oracle Commerce Platform security system. The Personalization module provides several user authorities that are configured out-of-the-box. The /atg/userprofiling/ProfileUserAuthority component controls security for the profile repository user directory.

Note: If you are using Oracle Access Management for Single Sign On authentication to the Business Control Center, Oracle Commerce Platform authentication for Business Control Center users is disabled.
