One content targeting Web service, RecommendContent, is provided by default with the Oracle Commerce Platform. It allows you to use a content targeter (created using the Personalization module) or slot (created in the Scenarios module) to display text or images that are appropriate for the person associated with the current user profile.

Note: In the sections that follow, some Web service descriptions include URLs with the variables hostname:port. For hostname, use the name of the machine running your application. For port, enter the number of the port that your application server uses to handle HTTP requests on that machine.
