The Web services provided with the Personalization layer return repository items as Repo2Xml items. You can manipulate the returned item by means of mapping files that allow you to do the following:
Block certain properties from being returned.
Change the property names in the resulting
Repo2Xmlitem.
For example, assume you are returning a user item, but you do not want the client calling the method to see the value of the scenarioInstances property. You could set up a mapping file for the user item descriptor that omits the scenarioInstances property when Repo2Xml items are created The syntax for these mapping files is defined in the Web Services Guide.
