The program description deals with the following:


Remarks on program function

The data for the clearing parameter is updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed.

The clearing type is defined first. The second step is to program the system by linking it to the company, branch and institute, the installation, the processing unit and the device.

Clearing type

Field with firmly defined selection options

Several Clearing types are programmed in the system. The required type is selected by clicking on this field and confirming the selection with a second click.

The standard settings at present are:


Company

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Select the number of the company for which the parameters are to be defined. Entry is enforced if no default appears in the field.

If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.

Company update is done with program Company.


Branch

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99999

Select the number of the branch for which the parameters are to be defined. Entry is enforced if no default appears in the field.

If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.

Branch update is done with program Branch.


Clearing institute

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the institute which authorises payment by credit card. Entry is enforced if no default appears in the field.

If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.

Clearing institute update is done with program Clearing institute.


Installation

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the installation to which the clearing type is to be linked. Entry is enforced if no default appears in the field.

If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.

Installation update is done with program Installation.


Process unit

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Payment by credit card is often possible at several terminals, but only one processor is responsible for authorisation of credit cards. Communications are possible via TCP/IP or modem. A device is programmed for TCP/IP or modem communication for all terminals at which credit card payment is permitted. The number of this MICROS Retail OSCAR POS device is entered as a processing unit in this field. The entry is only necessary if online call-up to a bank is applied.

If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.

The processing unit is updated with program Process unit.


Device no.

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the device no. to which the clearing type is to be linked. Entry is enforced if no default appears in the field.

If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.

Device update is done with program Devices.


Directory of batch file

Entry range permitted: max. 40 alphanumeric pos.

Enter the path and the directory in which the batch file is to be stored (drawn up independently by the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application).


Name of batch program

Entry range permitted: max. 40 alphanumeric pos.

Enter the name of the program which transfers the batch file to the bank.

CHIP card

Switch active: This option is set automatically if "ClearingCardServ" has been selected as the clearing type
Switch deactivated: If this is not a " ClearingCardServ" clearing type.

This option is required for internal purposes for credit card transactions for CHIP cards. If clearing type "ClearingCardServ" has been selected the parameter which has been set here automatically cannot be changed manually.


Initialisation

Switch active: This option is set automatically if "ClearingCardServ" has been selected as the clearing type
Switch deactivated: If this is not a " ClearingCardServ" clearing type.

This option is required for internal purposes for credit card transactions for CHIP cards. If clearing type "ClearingCardServ" has been selected the parameter which has been set here automatically cannot be changed manually.


Inverted

 Switch active: This option is set automatically if "ClearingCardServ" has been selected as the clearing type
Switch deactivated: If this is not a " ClearingCardServ" clearing type.

No modem

Switch active: This option is set automatically if "ClearingCardServ" has been selected as the clearing type
