Remarks on the Program Function

By use of this program you can maintain the basic data of the Pre Order items in the system, i.e. insert new records, edit and delete the existing ones. The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application System enables the preparation of an order before the actual Ordering Procedure.

Same as for an order, the Pre Order consists basically of 2 parts: the header information and the items to be ordered.

The formal data is programmed with Pre Order, i.e.:

Assign an order note no.
Enter the branch to be supplied
Define the date, etc.

This is thus the framework for an order in which the entries, i.e. the items to be ordered, are missing.

The second step consists of defining the items to be ordered using this program Pre Order Items.

Remarks on the Input Fields

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these Basic Data.

Just like in almost any other program:

The Input Mask may be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the application. In some cases some Data Fields may be missing.
Some input fields may contain default values or defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
The input mask contains some fields that require an entry and others in which entries are optional.
If the data record is updated via multi-page input masks, go to the Dialog Window by clicking on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
The same procedure applies to call up another update program from this program.
In some cases you may find that so-called "Switches" which - depending on the default - can be activated or deactivated with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches are identified by their dark color, deactivated switches are lighter-colored.

Item

Permitted input range: decimal, max. 14 digits (no decimal places)

Number of the item, under which the item is stored in the system. The maintenance of the item numbers is carried out using the program Items.

If you do not know the number, you can also select the data record via the Search Function.

Note:

Which items are to be shown, depends on the selection of Best [supplier], Last [supplier], Preferred [supplier].
Please note that only items which are marked as stock items in program Item can be entered.

Note:
Depending on the "goods receive selection type" in program stock location the best, latest or preferred supplier will be chosen automatically during a preorder. This preselection can be changed via those buttons if one or more supplier exist for a selecet item.

Descriptor

Permitted input range: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.

Name of item.

Quantity

Permitted input range: decimal, max. 13 digits incl. max. 3 decimal digits

No. of items to be ordered. Normally, the entry is done automatically in this field on the basis of the details under Stock.

Price/unit

Permitted input range: decimal, max. 11 digits including max. 3 decimal places

This entry is the price per order unit. The price is calculated on the basis of the selection made under Best [supplier], Last [supplier], Preferred [supplier].

Base price

Permitted input range: decimal, max. 11 digits, incl. max. 3 decimal digits

The price per base unit for this supplier item is displayed in this field.

Gross value

Total value of the ordered item: Qty. ordered * Price incl. VAT.

Supplier item no.

Permitted input range: decimal, max. 14 digits (no decimal digits)

The no. of the item under which it is stored in the system as a supplier item. The item no. update is done in program Supplier item. This is the no. to be used to order the item from the supplier.

If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with the Search function.

Supplier No.

Permitted input range: numeric 1 - 999999

The supplier no. shown here is the result of the selection made under Best [supplier], Last [supplier], Preferred [supplier]. The order is placed with the supplier shown here.

Text

Permitted input range: alphanumeric max. 40 pos.

A text of up to 40 positions can be entered in this field.

Pos value

The net value, i.e. the result of the order unit and the price, is shown here. The parametering of the VAT of the supplier defines whether the value is the gross value (inclusive/exclusive) or whether it is the value reduced by the VAT.

Order unit

Field with firmly defined selection options.

The defined order unit is displayed.

The order unit is updated with program Quantity unit.

Button: Discount

After a click on this button a sub-window will open and the defined fixed/variable costs, VAT and discount are displayed for the selected item. This is purely informative and is calculated on the basis of the data entered.
