Text Section (Section Type)

Remarks on program function
The data for the text section of print formats can be updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has already been stored can be displayed.
The sectors on receipt or form which can be printed are compiled into a print section with the related section types. The user defines the parameters for one or more print lines on receipt or form in section type "Text section" which includes text positions updated in program Text position.

Remarks on data fields
The following details all options available for update of the basic data.
The following applies to this program:
- The entry mask may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the user program. Some data fields may be missing.
- Some data fields may have defaults or defined selection options so that they cannot be updated in this program.
- The entry mask may contain fields with enforced entries, and in other fields entries may be optional.
- If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks the dialog window is reached by clicking on the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
- The procedure is the same if you want to call up another update program from this program.
- In some cases you may find the so-called. "Switches" which are either activated or deactivated - depending on the setting - by clicking with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches have a dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.
Print form group
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999
Enter the number of the print form group for which the section type "Text section" of a text section is to be updated.
If a new group is to be programmed, a free number should be entered in the Key fields.
Changes or deletions can be completed after call up of the data record from a number entry in the key fields. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with the Search function.
Print form
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999
Number of the print form which is linked to print type "Text section" of a print section.
Print section
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999
Number of the print section under which the section type "Text section" is stored in the database.
Print section name
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.
Name of the print section. This is a firm name assignment and marks the print section for a specific printable object.
Condition
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999
The number of the linked print condition is entered in this field as required by the section type.
The print conditions define for each section type what is to be printed on receipt or form under which conditions. This can range from a single condition through to a complex condition with a variety of logical comparison operands.
Print conditions are updated in program Print conditions.
Form width
Entry range permitted: numeric 0 - 999
Enter a value in this field to define the number of characters which can be printed on a line of the form in this section.
Note:
The default setting for the value of the form width corresponds to the settings
for the printer in use, i.e. if "0" is entered in this field the form
width will be defined by the linked printer.
Chars. / Inch
Entry range permitted: numeric 0 - 999
Enter a value in this field to define the print density (CPI = chars.per inch) for this text section.

The default for the value of the print density corresponds to the settings of the printer in use, i.e. if "0" is entered in this field the form width will be defined by the linked printer.
Letter quality
Button active: Letter quality on (dependent on printer)
Button deactivated: Normal print on (dependent on printer)
Print on receipt
Button active: This text
section is printed on the receipt.
Button deactivated: No print of this text section on the receipt.
Print on journal
Button active: This text
section is printed on the journal
Button deactivated: No print of this text section on the journal
No. of microfeeds
Entry range permitted: numeric 0 - 99
Enter a value in this field to define the number of microfeeds for this text section.
NOTE:
The default for the number of microfeeds matches the settings of the printer in
use, i.e. if "0" is entered in this field, the number of microfeeds
is defined by the linked printer.
Alignment
Field with firmly defined selection options
This field defines the alignment for the text section on receipt or form.
The following alignments are possible:
- Left
Alignment of text section from right-hand edge of receipt or form. - Right
Alignment of text section from left-hand edge of receipt or form. - Centered
Alignment of text section from right-hand and left-hand edge of receipt or form.
Note:
Differing values for the alignment can be assigned in a text section for the Text positions of this text section.
