Remarks on the Program Function

By use of this program you can maintain the basic data of the tax rate records in the system, i.e. insert new records, edit and delete the existing ones. You can also display the data on the screen for enquiry only.

The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application allows special taxes to be programmed and maintained in the system. For example, the service rates for

can be programmed.


Remarks on the Input Fields

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these Basic Data.

Just like in almost any other program:


Company

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Number of the company to which the tax record is to be assigned.

Normally, the company number is already displayed on the screen when this program is executed.


Tax

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99

The special tax records are created as follows:

Compare the overview graphics Calculating Service Charge and Calculating Item Service Charge.


Descriptor

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max 20 characters

A descriptive name of up to 20 characters can be entered for the tax record.


With print

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, 1 character

Enter the code which identifies the tax and which is to be printed on the receipt.

Example:


Value %

Permitted input range: decimal, max. 5 digits including max. 2 decimal places

Enter the tax rate in percentage. Fractional numbers are allowed.


As from date

Permitted input range: DDMMYYYY (day, month, year)

This is the starting date from which the new or modified value entered in the field Future Rate % is effective.


Future rate %

Permitted input range: decimal, max. 5 digits including max. 2 decimal places

If the tax rate is to be altered, enter the new rate in percent. Fractional numbers are also allowed here.


Priority

Permitted input range: numeric

This parameter is only meaningful if you are working with more than one tax rate (e.g. service charge; see Description above). Depending on the priority entered here, the sequence of tax rates used for processing is determined.
