From
the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS version 3.0 on, repair orders can be administered, i.e. repair
orders can be collected at the terminal and opened again after the repair to be
processed and closed.
The
following work steps have to be carried out for the complete booking of a
repair order.
- Collecting a Repair
Order
- Closing a Repair Order
The Repair Order Collection at the POS Terminal is to
be carried out as follows:
- Via the keyboard event <REPAIR>, the repair reception is
introduced.
- In the first step, you have to select a repair
type (e.g. waranty, normal repair etc.).
Repair types are to be maintained via the update program Application ->
Repairs -> Repair Mode.
- After selecting the repair type, you have to
select an item group via the<ST> key.
Item groups for repairs are stored in the system as Main
Departments and assigned Departments.
Main departments are assigned to departments that are particularly
characterized by the assignment to a repair group.
In the main departments, the option "Repair Group" has to be
activated to be able to use them for the collection of repair orders.
In the course of the selection of the repair type, the main departments
for which the option "Repair Group" has been activated will be
displayed first. Subsequently, all departments assigned to this main
department will be displayed.

The following example shows a possible
configuration of the main departments and departments for a repair collection.

- After the selection of an item group
(=Department), you can select a preset text in order to e.g. store
material or other properties of this item group.
The texts offered for selection are stored in the system in a text group
with the numbers 4300 to 4399. The text groups are to be maintained in the
program Parameters -> Misc. Params, -> Text
Group.
Additional text entries for the description of this repair will be
necessary if the option "Need Details" is activated in the
update programs Repair Mode and Repair Type.
- After entering all necessary description texts,
you have to select at least one repair item for this repair order by
repeatedly pressing the <REPAIR>
key. You can add further repair items to a repair Order by pressing the
<REPAIR> key again when
being asked.
Repair items are defined in the repair group by repair types.
Repair Groups are assigned to a department
and contain Repair Types in which the repair
price, the costs and the outworker are defined.
Outworkers are to be maintained in the update program Application ->
Repairs -> Outworker. In this program, the
shipping costs and the repair period can be defined.
- At the end of the recording for a repair order, a
receipt with the task number will be printed.
- For pre-payments to be made, two finance types of
the types Deposit and Balance Deposit have to be configured.
Finance types are to be maintained in the update program Parameters ->
Misc. Params -> Finance Type. The
booking on the corresponding finance types is carried out automatically
when a pre-payment is entered.
Repair
orders will be stored in the system as open repair orders until the repair has
been carried out and the customer has paid for it.
Repair
orders can be viewed with all included positions via the update program
Application -> Repairs -> Repair.
The closing of a Repair at the POS Terminal is to be
carried out as follows:
- Via the keyboard event <REPAIRSEL> or <REPAIRSELn>, the closing of the
repair order is introduced.
- In the first step, a repair order stored in the
system has to be selected.
- After the selection of a repair order, the
related repair items will be displayed.
- Via the keyboard event <REPAIRCOLLECT>, the selected repair
item will be selected for further processing. If applicable, further
repair items can be adopted for the closing. Further items can be booked
on the receipt before the receipt is closed via a payment type key.
- After the repair order has been closed, the
repair items receive the status "Collected" in the field
"Repair State" in the update program Repair Position.
- A repair order of which all repairs have the
status "Collected" cannot be called up again at the terminal.
