Both guests and logged-in shoppers can access the Wish List page, via a link in the footer, so your account-based storefront should have layouts for both types of shoppers.

Like the Home Layouts, the Wish List Layouts need their header widgets modified to manage content for guests and logged-in shoppers appropriately. However, these layouts can share the header widget instances you created for the Home Layouts instead of creating new instances from scratch. For more information on these shared header widgets, see Home Layout.

The out-of-the-box Wish List Layout, upon which your account-based Wish List Layouts should be based, includes a Wish List Welcome Widget instance. This widget allows a shopper to self-register if they do not already have an account. In account-based storefronts, shoppers are not allowed to self-register so this functionality should be removed.

To create a Wish List Layout for guests:

  1. On the Design tab, clone the Wish List Layout, give it a descriptive name, enable the Make Default Layout option, and save the clone.

  2. Go to Grid View for the layout, add the Header Widget, Acct-based, Guest instance of the Header widget type to the layout and delete the original Header Widget.

  3. Delete the Collection Navigation Widget.

  4. Add a new instance of the Wish List Welcome widget type and give it a descriptive name, for example, Wish List Welcome, No Self-Register.

  5. Open the new Wish List Welcome Widget instance’s properties, then click the Login and Registration buttons link.

  6. Remove the Registration Button from the Elements Displayed and click Done.
