Managing a Layout

Use this task to delete, copy, and move layouts to a global or project category. You can also rename layouts by clicking on the layout name.

To manage a layout from the Visualizer workspace:

  1. Click More and select Manage to open the Manage Layouts dialog box.
  2. In the Manage Layouts dialog box:
    1. Click Delete to remove a layout.
    2. Click Copy to create a copy of a layout.
    3. Click Paste after selecting the location you want to add the copy of a layout.
    4. Click Move to Global to promote a project level or user level layout to the global level.
    5. Click Move to Project promote a user level layout to the project level.
    6. Click Export to create a .VLF file to send to another P6 Visualizer user.

      When pasting into the Project category, the Select Project dialog box is launched. Select the Project Name to associate to the layout.

      Notes:

      • You can select multiple layouts in the Manage Layouts dialog box by holding Shift or Ctrl while you click on layouts to add them to the selection. When you have multiple layouts selected you can delete all the layouts you have selected, copy and paste them to another band, Move to Global (for user or project layouts), Move to Project (for user layouts), or export them.
      • To move, rename, delete, or paste global layouts, you must have the Add/Edit/Delete Global Visualizer Layouts privilege, and to move, rename, delete, or paste project layouts, you must have the Add/Edit/Delete Project Visualizer Layouts privilege.
